Darting Small Packages
I thought that I should share something more gentle this week. Last week's share was a bit scary and keeping one's distance from it is critical!
The hummers have been dive-bombing the feeders. We have had up to half a dozen at one time dodging one another in the air. These two guys were more thirsty than fiesty!
They are so quick that it is hard to capture them but I did get a few...
They are a challenge...but they are so beautiful!
I am participating in Outdoor Wednesday at A Southern Daydreamer hosted by Susan. Stop by, it is so much fun to see everybody out and about!

Oh I love watching hummers and have many feeders around my house however, they seem to be enjoying some of my plants more. I have a lot of indigo blue salvia which gets quite large and they go to that more than my feeders. I once observed a hummer at a nursery here and he was quite content that I was so very close by. I watched him for the longest time while he fed from the nectar of this salvia so I have been planting it in my garden ever since. I think in CA, y'all get many more hummers than we do here in N FL???
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog.

They're so beautiful, aren't they? I love it when there are two or more at our feeders, but I've never been able to get a shot - beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is amazing that you managed to get such great shots. One of my friends has a feeder but she says the hummingbirds will not share; they fight for their territory. Beautiful shots, thanks for sharing.

I love hummingbirds but we get so few in our area even though we put out feeders. They don't arrive here till about July 4th. The ones we get never seem to share the feeder. lol
ReplyDeleteYour photos are fabulous. Do you mind telling me what camera and lens you are using?
Great post,
